Heatwave

London is scorching at the moment. HOT. Summer is definitely here!

We went out to Regent's park yesterday to enjoy the hot weather and drink frappuccinos. I don't know where I would be without frappo's these days. Really.

Wearing my H&M playsuit from last summer.

Once again, wearing my beloved Chie Mihara's!

Regent's Park, probably my favorite place in London these days.

In other news, we were interviewed by Icelandic magazine MONITOR in their latest issue, yay! I think the interview is on page 18, just scroll down and you'll find it, although it's all in Icelandic!

Today it's supposed to be 28 degrees and sunny, and I need to be at work in less then 2 hours, maybe it's time to get out and enjoy some of this weather before work? Have a nice day!

Sonia Rykiel

Sonia Rykiel, one of my all time favorite designers, just announced her 15 year long battle with Parkinson's disease. Sonia, who is now 81 years old, didn't want people to see her pain, so for 15 years she hid it, until now when she is no longer capable of hiding the symptoms.

This is all revealed in a new book. According to WWD, the French designer finally discusses her illness in "N’oubliez Pas Que Je Joue" (“Don’t Forget It’s A Game”) after her 15 years of silence.

Sonia designs the most beautifully cooky knit garments, which I love. I bought my first Sonia Rykiel dress in 2009, from the S/S 08 collection. I had been eyeing it forever, knowing I'd probably never be able to afford such a beautiful designer piece. But once it was 50% off, still available in store, and just having discovered you can but clothes down for monthly VISA payments.. I knew I had to have it. About a year later I also found a pair of shoes from the collection on sale, and history repeated itself, but I now own a Sonia Rykiel outfit, and it was worth every penny!

On the left, buying my Sonia shoes, and on the right, wearing my Sonia dress and flexing my muscles, maybe? Both photos by my dearest Júlía Hvanndal.

Wearing my amazing Sonia shoes at messy Kaffibarinn.

Happy Sunday!

Our little blog is all grown up and has a new custom domain! From now on you can just enter unicornsforbreakfast.com and you'll be directed to right here! Yay!

To celebrate this, here's a photo of me and Katrín being slightly less grown up in Regent's Park the other day.
